The team known as Minnesota United was founded in 2010 as NSC Minnesota Stars, and was renamed Minnesota Stars FC in 2012. As a result, the team's first two logos were tied to the "star" component of the name. But this concept changed in 2013 when the name was changed again. The team's chant is glory glory. Their only victory at BBVA Stadium came in the Round of 16 of the Open Cup on June 18, 2019. It was Minnesota's first MLS road victory over the Dynamo.
