The term "Twins" in the name of the team was derived from the region's popular name, the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and St. Paul). While the logo depicts two men, one in a Minneapolis Miller's uniform and the other in a St. Paul Saints uniform, shaking hands across the Mississippi River within an outline of Minnesota. Respect Minnesota is the 2020 Minnesota Twins postseason tagline. It is the first club in history to record two triple plays in the same game, on July 17, 1990, against the Boston Red Sox that lost the game by 1-0.
