New Mexico State Aggies - NCAA Team Color Codes

The teams at New Mexico State University are known as the Aggies. Under coach Warren B. Woodson, the Aggies won the Sun Bowl in 1959 and 1960 and continued to perform well until he was fired in 1967. They have only had four winning seasons since then, with two conference championships in 1976 and 1978. New Mexico State University's logo features a caricature of Old West gunfighter and lawman Frank "Pistol Pete" Eaton. He is dressed in cowboy garb (a hat, a vest, and chaps) and holds two pistols. The "A" is one of New Mexico State's most cherished traditions. ". For generations, the letter "A" has been boldly emblazoned on many items, buildings, and landmarks, symbolizing Aggie pride.
