The Sacred Heart Pioneers are the 32 intercollegiate athletic teams (14 men, 18 women) that represent Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. The football team competes in the Football Championship Subdivision and won the FCS championship in 2001. In 1986, the men's basketball team won the Division II national championship. Furthermore, the women's basketball team has won the Northeast Conference regular season championship five times and the conference tournament three times. Aside from these, the baseball team has won four Northeast Conference tournament championships, as well as other victories. In the current logo, you can only see the lettering "SHU" (the initials of the university's name). The logo's color palette has remained fairly consistent. It has always used a bright red and grey color scheme, along with a white background.
