Rutgers University's athletic teams are known as the Scarlet Knights. The Knights won three Conference tournament championships (1975, 1976, 1979, and 1989) as well as nine Conference regular season championships (1943, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1983, 1991). In 2004, the university adopted a completely new logo. There is only the large letter "R". It appears to be clean but completely generic. As is customary, the team walks down the "Scarlet Walk" and touches the statue.
