Princeton University's athletic teams are known as the Princeton Tigers. There have been 24 NCAA team national championships won by the school, including one in men's fencing, three in women's lacrosse, six in men's lacrosse, and eight in men's golf. The men's and women's crews at Princeton have also won numerous national rowing championships. In 2012, the field hockey team became the first Ivy League team to win the NCAA Division I Championship in field hockey. The University's current athletic logo introduces the tiger theme without actually depicting a tiger. They combined the large "P" and the tiger pattern to create a meaningful and clean emblem.
