The University of Nebraska Omaha's sports teams are known as the Omaha Mavericks. In 1962, 1963, 1965, 1967, 1968, 1983, 1984, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007, the Mavericks won 13 conference championships. Their logo is somewhat abstract. It is made up of two partially overlapping letters "O." One is given in red, while the other is given in black. In the negative space, there is also a white "O." This symbol was first used in 2011.
