Screen Printing Artwork Requirements

Apart from Artwork requirements selection of right apparel brand is very important as apparels that are specially designed for screen printing ensure that screen print doesn’t fade with washing.

There will be some jobs that require special graphics and artwork but following artwork specifications satisfies most of screen print jobs we do for our clients.

Artwork Graphics

It should be in Vector Graphics or Hi-Resolution images with 300 PPI or above.

General Specifications

  Vector Graphics 300 PPI CMYK
It is very important when saving a vector file to convert the text to outlines or curves depending on the program. EPS (vector files), Adobe Illustrator (text converted to outlines), Coral Draw (convert to curves).
  Photo Image Files 150 - 300 PPI CMYK
If you wish to use a digital photo, they usually come as .jpg .bmp .gif .png files and will need to be a minimum of 150 – 300 DPI and saved as CMYK. Always set your digital camera to quality level High or Best.
  Hi-Res Images 300 PPI CMYK
High quality TIFF files at 300 PPI or more at actual image size or larger. Some PDF files work, please submit for evaluation.

Image Resolution

To achieve better results, images should be created and saved at a resolution of 300 PPI (Pixels per inch) or above. Remember, higher the resolution, better the print quality you will get.

Digital Transfer

Digital transfers are printed in CMYK process color (not spot colors like our screen-printed transfer). Not all RGB color can be rendered in CMYK. Therefore, you should convert the file before sending your file.

(Note Images on websites are usually created in RGB colors.
